Our Savior and Hope: 1st Timothy 1:1

1 Timothy 1:1 (NASB95) — 1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus according to the commandment of God our Savior, and of Christ Jesus, who is our hope,

1 Timothy 1:1 (ESV) — 1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope,

1 Timothy 1:1 (NKJV) — 1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the commandment of God our Savior and the Lord Jesus Christ, our hope,

1 Timothy 1:1 (CSB) — 1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope:

In Greek, prepositions usually govern the relationship between one noun and its object(s). When you have one preposition governing the relationship between one noun and two objects, those two objects are meant to be identified closely together.

In the above passage, Paul presents God and Christ Jesus in such a way that shows the beauty of our God, who is both our Savior and Hope, and glorifies the One who took on flesh to seek and save those who were utterly and desperately lost!
